National defence academy

BSF academy, tekanpur

BSF Academy, where training consciousness is a way of life and nestled amidst the serene, calm environment of Tekanpur on NH 75, is located 32 km away from the land of legendary music maestro-Tansen, Gwalior. It is spread over an area of 2923 acres, which includes 643 acres of lake. The birth of Academy was the foresight of Sh K F Rustam Ji, IPS, the founding father of BSF, who found that Tekanpur and its surroundings offered an ideal setting for the Premier Training Institute of BSF, where trainee Officers and Sub Inspectors could be trained to imbibe the essential qualities of leadership and professionalism. CAPT.VIJAYANT THAPAR

Thapar senior was born on 26 Dec 1976 at Nangal Punjab. His father, Colonel V.N Thapar, was the son and grandson of army officers.Thapar was commissioned in the Maratha Light Infantry, and commanded a battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. At the time of his birth, his father was posted at Pathankot with an Armoured Brigade. The young child was promptly named 'VIJYANT' after the name of the main battle tank of the army. His uncle was an ace fighter pilot also at Pathankot. Vijyant always wanted to be in the Air Force or Army. His favourite toys were guns. As a child, he would wear his father's peak cap, take his cane and march around like an officer. COMMANDO SCHOOL BELGAUM

The commando school belgaum is aslo known as ghatak force and this traning centre is situated in belgaum,karnataka. The most physically fit and motivated soldiers in an infantry battalion are selected to be a part of the Ghatak Platoon. As a part of the training, the soldiers are evaluated through speed marches in battle gear ranging from 20 to 60 km, carrying their rifles and 20 kg of weight in their rucksacks. Depending on their role and parent unit, the successful individuals often undergo specialized training in demolition, close quarter battle, navigation, rock climbing and heliborne assault. CDS( combined defense service)

The  "Combined Defence Services"  ( CDS ) Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union public service Commission  for recruitment into the indian military academy , officer traning academy , Indian naval academy  and indian ,air force academy . The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the service selection board  (SSB). Services Selection Board  (SSB) is an organization that vets candidates for admission into the indian armed force . The board conducts personality and intelligence tests and interviews to determine suitability. Some tests are paper based while others involve group tasks or presenting to a panel of assessors. The SSB is held in specified central locations over a number of days. There are a variety of pathways to a commission as an officer in indian armed forces. This applies to both for civilians (after 10+2, graduation and post graduation), as well as for serving armed forces personnel. All except army medical corps members must succeed in the "SSB interview". There is no limit to the number of attempts that can be made. The interview involves a battery psychological tests of personality, to assess the candidate's suitability for commission to the armed forces.
